Meet Lori Lincoln
Multiple Sclerosis survivor and her story.
First of all, thank you for riding. MS is such a debilitating disease. I have not been on a bike since diagnosis due to balance issues. It is nice to know there are others who can help us out with the fundraising and ride on our behalf.
I have had MS since 2006, over 12 years now. I have been on every medication offered, even a few not labeled for MS. The only drug that worked for me at first was Tysabri. I took that drug until I was healthy enough to get pregnant, at 38! Who knew? I had taken chemo previously to help with my MS and that was supposed to leave me infertile. Well, one ovary was working!!! That baby boy is now 7 and a blessing in my life. He keeps me strong. I then moved on to Tecfidera which worked well for me but left me ill after every dose. That was every day so I was so excited when Ocrevus came out. A twice a year infusion that does not hinder my life at all. I went from injections and infusions to having to worry about my MS just twice a year. I have done really well on Ocrevus. Now, I am able to return to work and live a fairly normal life. I have been back at work for 3 years now and doing well.
Lori continues her battle with MS and we appreciate her sharing her story.
